Below is a list of command abilities usable in Final Fantasy V. Most (but not all) command abilities can be learned by leveling up a certain job. The chart gives the name of the ability, the job, the job level the ability is learned at, and what the ability does.

Abilities whose name is in italics are exclusive to the Advance and discontinued 2013 mobile and Steam versions.

Equip All jobs None Change weapon(s) or shield during battle. Cannot be equipped as a regular command ability, and consists of an unnamed sub-command of !Items in most versions. Equip from FFV Advance
Guard
FFV Guard Icon iOS
Knight 2 Makes the character take 0 damage from incoming single-target physical attacks. Does not protect from added spells and added statuses. Guard from FFV Pixel Remaster
Completely absorb a direct physical attack.
Focus

Monk 1 Makes the character skip a turn, and then perform a physical attack applying the Focus modifiers to increase damage. Focus from FFV Advance
Focus energies for a hit with twice the attack power.
Kick

Monk - Attacks all enemies at once applying the multi-targeting modifiers. Cannot be learned as a command ability, exclusive to the Monk class. Kick from FFV Advance
Chakra

Monk 3 Heals some of the user's HP and cures darkness and poison. Chakra from FFV Pixel Remaster
Healing energies recover HP and cleanse the body of poison and darkness.
Flee
(Escape)

Thief 2 Makes the party escape from any escapable battle. Wastes a turn in unescapable battles. Same effect as !Smoke. FFV iOS Flee
Quickly escape from battle. You may be unable to escape from some enemies.
Steal

Thief 4 Attempts to steal an item from an enemy. Steal from FFV Advance
Steal treasure from an enemy.
Mug

Black Magic

Red Magic

Catch

Release

Gaia
(Terrain)

Geomancer 1 Semi-randomly executes a magic attack based on the type of terrain. Leaf Swirl from FFV Pixel Remaster
Attack enemies by channeling the power of the surrounding area.
Smoke
FFV Smoke Icon iOS
Ninja 1 Makes the party escape from any escapable battle. Wastes a turn in unescapable battles. Same effect as !Flee. Smoke from FFV Advance
Use the confusion of a smoke bomb to escape from most enemies without them even noticing.

Throw

Toss weapons at enemies. Scrolls and shurikens can be thrown as well.
Animals

Ranger 1 Semi-randomly calls an animal companion to execute some sort of magical effect/damage. FFV iOS Animals - Nightingale
Gain the aid of woodland friends.
Aim

Ranger 2 Performs a regular physical attack that cannot miss. FFV iOS Aim
Raise the accuracy of attacks.
Rapid Fire

Ranger 4 Attacks four times with each equipped weapon while applying the Rapid Fire modifiers (D = 0, and M is halved). All attacks are guaranteed to hit. FFV iOS Rapid Fire

Hide

Bard 1 Removes the character from the field until Show is used. If the entire party is hidden in an escapable battle, the party will escape. Hide from FFV Pixel Remaster
Duck out of sight to avoid attacks.
Reveal

Bard 1 Reverts the effects of Hide on the character. Reveal from FFV Advance
Sing
FFV Sing Icon iOS
Bard 3 Allows the character to sing songs to execute various effects/damage. Sing from FFV Advance
Perform magical chants with different effects.
Jump

Dragoon 1 Leap into the air and after a short while descend to execute an attack applying the Jump modifiers if using certain weapons. Jump from FFV Pixel Remaster
Jump to deliver a powerful attack from above. Power is doubled when a spear is equipped.
Lance

Flirt

Dancer 1 Attempts to Charm a non-heavy target, causing it to lose its next turn if successful. Flirt from FFV Pixel Remaster
Charm enemies to make them forget about attacking.
Dance

Perform dances that bewitch enemies.
Mineuchi

Zeninage

Mix

Chemist 2 Mix items together to create new concoctions. Shadow Flare from FFV Pixel Remaster
Combine items to create concoctions that can be consumed in battle to augment stats or harm enemies.
Drink

Chemist 3 Drink certain items to increase certain stats up to a limit. Speed Shake from FFV Pixel Remaster
Drink special medicines to increase stats during battle.
Recover

Chemist 4 Heal the party of most status ailments. Recover from FFV Pixel Remaster
Recover from various conditions.
Revive

Chemist 5 Revives KO'd party members. Revive from FFV Pixel Remaster
Restore a KO'd ally to fighting form.
Oath

Call forth a demon.
Dark Arts

Open Fire

Shoot one enemy.
Combine

Finisher

Gladiator 2 Executes a critical hit, a powerful elemental attack, or does nothing. The element used depends on the character's crystal element. Bartz's elemental attack is Wind, Lenna's is Water, Faris's is Fire, and Galuf's/Krile's is Earth. FFV iOS Finisher - Elemental Attack
Powerful strike that whenever hits an enemy, attacks its weakpoint for massive damage.
Bladeblitz

Predict

Oracle 2 Executes a random effect depending on the last digit of the user's HP and MP, their level, and other factors. FFV iOS Predict
Foretell cataclysms.

Dummied commands[]

Several unused commands appear. Dummy01 and Dummy02 appear in the Super Nintendo version, and four more commands were added in the Game Boy Advance version.

Excite

None None Brings up the message "Entranced!", but seems to have no other effect. Judging from the text displayed after using this command, this is most likely the ability that enemies use after they have been affected by the Dancer's Flirt command which results in them wasting a turn. Patarillo

None None Teleports the user to random areas across the battlefield where they remain there for the rest of the battle. It doesn't appear to hinder the character in any way. Patarillo from FFV Advance
