- For the primary universe counterpart, see Borg Collective.
Emblem of the Kingdom in 2411.
In the mirror universe, the Borg Kingdom was the collective consciousness of the Borg, personified by the Borg King. The Kingdom's primary goal was to bring order to chaos, to achieve biological and technological perfection by assimilating unique and more advanced attributes from other races, and at the same time help share the Borg's increasing perfection by adding said assimilated species to the Kingdom. History and specifics[]
Borg Invasion of 2371[]
In the First Splinter[1] timeline permutation of the mirror universe, the Borg had destroyed a series of Romulan and Klingon-Cardassian Alliance outposts along the Romulan Neutral Zone by the year 2371. These attacks attracted the attention of operatives of the Terran Rebellion, as well as Noonien Soong, a Terran scientist under Alliance employment. Believing the Borg could prove useful allies in their fight against the Alliance, the Terran archaeologist for hire Jean-Luc Picard and Soong set out to the neutral zone in an attempt to track down and contact the Borg. The pair were eventually able to locate the Borg in the Carraya system where they found a large diamond-shaped ship attacking an Alliance listening outpost on Carraya IV.
After assimilating the outpost, Soong (who became their spokesman Locutus of Borg) and a Klingon vessel, the Mek'leth, the diamond ship set course for Qo'noS, leaving behind a series of destroyed ships and colonies. Among the worlds devastated by the Borg were Beta Thoridor, Khitomer and Morska. In its wake were also a large number of refugee ships attempting to escape the slaughter and the impending fall of the Alliance.
It was in the Kowletz system, near Rura Penthe, in which a fleet of Klingon, Cardassian, Bajoran and Ferengi ships made a stand against the Borg. However, it was only through the efforts of Picard and his use of an Iconian probe that the diamond ship exploded after uploading an Iconian computer virus. 25th century[]
In the 25th century, the Borg Kingdom was involved in a multiversal conflict with the Aetherian Concordium. The mirror Borg used reality vortices to invade other universes. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Taken By Surprise")
Leeta had designs for the mirror Borg after becoming Emperor of the Terran Empire in 2411. (STO - Terran Gambit mission: "The Fujiwhara Effect")
According to the Aetherians, the Borg used existing reality vortices. The Aetherians allied with the Khitomer Alliance to contain the vortices and the Borg. The Borg attacked Starbase 1. The invading Borg cube was led by Strategus Aarn Tzen-Tarrak. The Borg attempted to assimilate Admiral Kuumaarke of the Lukari Concordium. Captain Harry Kim of the USS Inouye and Khitomer allies thwarted that effort, destroying the Borg forces and reinforcements with the help of the Aetherian starship Harmony. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Taken By Surprise")
When the Borg Kingdom invaded fluidic space, the Aetherians were not able to enter and organized an expedition of the Khitomer Alliance. The Alliance briefly allied with the native Undine and boarded the Kingdom's unicomplex in fluidic space. Admiral Kuumaarke and Captains Ezri Dax and Harry Kim learned about the Kingdom's fascination and encounters with Kathryn Janeway and the ISS Voyager in the 24th century. The Allies confronted the Borg King, mirror Harry Kim. King Harry Kim was defeated in combat and shot by Kuumaarke after uttering a cryptic warning of betraying allies. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Scorpion's Abyss")
Admiral Kuumaarke designed and operated a holographic combat training simulation involving drones from the Borg Collective, Borg Kingdom and Control Borg for Khitomer Alliance officers to practice with. (STO - Task Force Operations mission: "Borg Battle Royal")
In 2411, the primary universe Borg Collective, mirror universe Borg Kingdom and alternate reality Control Borg established a joint superstructure consisting of several unicomplexes in fluidic space. The Undine assigned a trio of planet killers - the PK Iota, PK Kappa and PK Theta - and 18 Dromias-class bio-cruisers, overseen by Designate 7734, to the task force. 7734 ordered the task force to eliminate Cube Alpha and defenses at Unicomplex Alpha. Clearing that unicomplexes allowed 7734 to call the planet killers in. The commander also thanked the Alliance starship captains each time they liberated one Dromias vessels when Borg probes captured the cruisers. (STO - Task Force Operation mission: "Royal Flush")
Starships and technology[]
In the 25th century, the Borg Kingdom employed the same ship classes as the Borg Collective and Borg Cooperative of the primary universe. Borg drones included vinculum drones and dendritic drones, who could resurrect fallen drones. Unlike drones from the primary universe, the mirror Borg could adapt to weapons dealing kinetic damage, like mêlée weapons and machine guns. The color scheme of the Kingdom was inverted compared to the Collective: drones were white rather than black. Starships were equally dark but had red highlights instead of green ones. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Taken By Surprise")
Admiral Kuumaarke and Captain Kim found the mirror Borg command ship similar to V'ger and nicknamed it B'ger. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Scorpion's Abyss")
