A class-17 nebula was encountered by the wayward Federation Intrepid-class starship USS Voyager on stardate 50126.4 in 2373 during the ship's return trip to the Alpha Quadrant. The class-17 contained 7.000 parts per million of sirillium. In composition and appearance, the class-17 remined Lieutenant Tuvok of the class 11 nebula, which he had encountered in the Beta Quadrant while serving as an ensign aboard the USS Excelsior in 2293.
