In the alternate reality known as the Lore Universe, a version of the prime universe reshaped by Lore, the Grand Eternal Matrix of Lore was a 24th century interstellar nation-state, an empire spanning across the Milky Way galaxy. This nation and the reality that it was placed in were ruled by the rogue positronic Soong-type android Lore. (ST - Lore War comic: "Issue 1")
History and specifics[]
The Grand Eternal Matrix and the universe that it existed in were brought into existence by Lore following the fall of Pleroma in the year 2378. The history was created retroactively. By the 24th century of the rewritten history, the Grand Eternal Matrix of Lore controlled several major planets across all four galactic quadrants. To control his custom reality, Lore monitored his universe through his coerced brother Data and by assigning each quadrant to a "mind". By the 2370s decade, Lore intentionally allowed the Free Syndicate to exist to serve as a valve of rebellion and to keep the military of his state, Starfleet, sharp. In 2378, the Prophets restored the prime universe memories of Benjamin Sisko, who allied with Kahless II to restore their reality. (ST - Lore War comic: "Issue 1")
When Pah-Wraith Shaxs Drazon had his memories restored aboard the LSS Enterprise, he determined his mission was to destroy the fascist Starfleet in one day. He commandeered the Enterprise and later the LSS Cerritos before attacking Starfleet Command on Earth. (LD - Lore War comic: "Shaxs' Worst Day")
Society and technology[]
Technology and aesthetics resembled the contemporary prime universe Federation and its Starfleet. Starfleet ships carried the LSS name prefix and were covered in aggressive-looking blades, differentiating them from their prime counterparts. Under the reign of Lore, the Grand Matrix numbered various species among those it allowed to serve within Starfleet, including humans, Klingons, Andorians, Bajorans, Antedeans, Orions, Kelpiens, Kzinti, Gorn, Lurians, and Bolians, as well as hybrids like Alexander Rozhenko and Aholialili Sato. Furthermore, the jurisdiction of the regime also extended to include the populations of Ferenginar, Cardassia Prime, Wadis, Brax, Kazari, Hiroga, Tzenketh, and Karemma, as well as Romulus, though High Admiral Worf claimed that the people of the last of these planets had been removed from the "holy equation".
