Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 At Hooper's Store, Big Bird picks out colors of yarn to knit something for Luis, who fixed his feather duster earlier ("Boy, were my feathers dusty!"). He then tells Gordon he’s making a surprise for Luis and asks Susan to borrow her knitting needles. Big Bird goes into the construction site, and Gordon, Susan, and the kids try to guess what Big Bird is going to knit. Suddenly, they hear a loud crash coming from behind the doors; Big Bird accidentally "dropped a stitch."

Cartoon Uncle Al tells his nephew a story about a dog he had, but gets mixed up with the details.

Upon reading the letter, Harris is insulted and chases Roosevelt.

Finally, Big Bird gives David his gift: a wooden shirt! It never wrinkles or shrinks, but Big Bird warns him of splinters (and woodpeckers).
