SCENE 1Luis calls Barkley over to play a game with him, Patrick, Becky, and Denise. They imagine doing various physical movements - first crawling through a pretend tunnel, then crossing over an imaginary narrow bridge, and leaping over a stream. In each instance Barkley is able to follow them, through when he reaches the stream he leaps right onto Luis and knocks him down, showering him with licks.

SCENE 2Mr. Hooper comes across Maria and the kids, who have taught Barkley to count in Spanish. Mr. Hooper doesn't believe it, so to prove it they say each number from one to five in Spanish, and Barkley responds each time by barking the appropriate amount. Mr. Hooper is impressed, but could do without the barking. He jokes about Barkley counting 2,247 times and sure enough, Barkley begins barking that value. Maria and the kids escort the dog to the park to keep the noise away from the store. Mr. Hooper remarks, "I didn't know he could count in English; maybe he can count in Yiddish, too!"

SCENE 3Oscar sets out some bananas by his can, along with a sign reading "PELIGRO." Maria thinks his signage is an error, as "PELIGRO" doesn't translate to "bananas" in English - it means "danger." Oscar explains, and demonstrates, how one could take a banana, peel it, and carelessly drop the peel on the ground, which would make it dangerous. Barkley comes bounding over to them and slips on the peel. Maria consoles Barkley, takes the sign, and hangs it around Oscar's neck, claiming he is the real danger around here.

After locking up Hooper's Store for the night, David and Mr. Hooper hear the sound of a dog howling. They think it's Barkley and worry he might be in trouble, so they trace the sound to Oscar's trash can. Oscar confirms Barkley is inside, and that he's practicing to sing in the Grouch Follies. Luis announces the sponsors as Barkley continues to howl.
