Description
SCENE 1Maria welcomes the viewer from the yard, where Telly and the kids are writing their own stories today. Telly hasn’t started on his because he’s scared that the wind will blow his paper away, all the way to the Amazon jungle where he’ll have to go to fetch it, and maybe ask a monkey for help. His imagination runs away with him until Maria offers a solution: he can hold the paper down with his right hand while holding his pencil in his left hand. Telly likes this, only now he doesn’t know what to write about. Maria suggests the scenario he just imagined, but he’s already forgotten it.
