Bobbin is one of the six Ravel Abilities present in Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. When obtained, it gives Kirby a bobbin hat which allows him to throw the bobbin forward like the Yo-Yo ability in the main series when he uses the Yarn Whip.
The bobbin itself has about twice the range of the yarn whip and can be tossed in many different directions. If the player holds down the B button, the bobbin itself will stay in place while Kirby is free to move around, and will return to him the moment the B button is released. The Bobbin will defeat any regular enemies it touches and can also be used to destroy yarn blocks, but it cannot be used to directly attack bosses.
