Description
SCENE 1Mr. Handford greets the viewer to a special day on Sesame Street. Everyone has spent all week rebuilding Hooper's Store, and today will be the grand reopening of the street's special gathering place. Outside the store, he encounters a dozing Big Bird, Snuffy, and Bob. Mr. Handford wakes Bob to find out what they're doing there.
SCENE 1, cont'd
In a flashback from yesterday afternoon, Big Bird and Snuffy are "steamed" at the thought of having a different Hooper's Store. Bob explains to them that things change, which does not automatically mean things are worse or better. Big Bird and Snuffy hadn't thought of this, and begin to look forward to the opening.
SCENE 1, cont'd
Back in the present, Mr. Handford still doesn't understand why everybody is sleeping outside. Bob attempts to answer this, but is engulfed in feathers and fur when Big Bird and Snuffy change their sleeping positions.

SCENE 2
Mr. Handford manages to free Bob from Big Bird and Snuffy's tight grip so he can continue. In the next part of Bob's story, Big Bird and Snuffy are even more steamed because they want to be first in the new store, but they can't because Snuffy's mommy informed them that they had to have a grown-up willing to spend the night "on line" with them. Bob almost sneaks away from the position when he realizes he is the only available option, especially when Big Bird and Snuffy vent how it was Bob's fault for getting them excited in the first place. He doesn't get too far when the two friends get an idea and politely begin to ask, "Oh, Bob..." In present day, Big Bird and Snuffy wake up only to learn that it's still not time to open Hooper's Store, smothering Bob once more as they get some extra sleep.

Mr. Handford pours him a glass of milk to calm his nerves, Telly drinks it down, and before they realize what he's just done, Telly's problem is solved!

Gina and Mr. Handford are excited about all of the new shirts and giveaways they have for their customers to celebrate when Don Music crams his piano into the store. He plays the song he's written in honor of the reopening, but he can't recall the last word that rhymes with "seed." After several wrong attempts (and banging his head on the piano offscreen), Gina and Mr. Handford tell him that it's "need" that rhymes with "seed." Don, with some Anything Muppet backup singers who pop up out of nowhere, performs a definitive version.

SCENE 5
A long line has formed in front of Hooper's Store, stretching all the way to Oscar's trash can. Everyone (including Mike, Jelani, Maria, Luis, a few kids, Linda, Alex, a couple of Honkers, Gordon, Susan, Miles, Uncle Wally, and a still tired Bob) chatters in excitement about the big moment. The Count observes his pocket watch and begins a countdown, and Gina and Mr. Handford welcome everyone to come in. Big Bird stops the festivities when he realizes that while he and Snuffy are both first on the line, only one of them can be the first one into the store. Big Bird lets Snuffy go first, and the Count begins a second countdown. Snuffy proudly marches forward, but he winds up stuck in the doorway! Some of the others enter the back door (followed by the Count to do yet another countdown) and push Snuffy back outside before the rest of the crowd piles into the store. Even though Snuffy technically wasn't the first one in, Big Bird does say he's the first one to get stuck trying to get in. They get a good laugh and join the others as the shirts, bags, and hats printed with the "Hooper's Store" logo are passed around.

SCENE 6
At night, Gina and Mr. Handford are alone in the store as "everybody who's anybody" has been there... except for Oscar, who stands outside at a distance carried by Bruno. He's sure he'll hate the new store as it'll be all brand new and shiny, but becomes impressed when he sees the big mess the party has made. Oscar believes it'll take them all night to get the store back in shape, but when Maria, Mike, and others show up to help clean, Oscar can't handle the cooperation and leaves.

SCENE 7
Biff, Sully, and Stella have framed Mr. Handford's first dollar bill he earned from the store's re-opening and offer to hang it up for him on the wall. Since Biff is the one who caused the collapse of the original store in the first place, Mr. Handford insists on doing it himself instead. Gina announces the sponsors as he does so, followed by the nighttime version of the credit crawl from Episode 2255.
