Nintendo Switch Online is a subscription system from Nintendo that primarily grants the ability to play Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games online. It released on September 18, 2018, in North America, on September 19, 2018, in Japan, Europe, Australia, Hong Kong and South Korea, on September 9, 2025 in Taiwan,[1] and on November 18, 2025 in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.[2][3][4] An expanded tier of the service, called Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, was released on October 25, 2021.
Apart from allowing online gameplay, Nintendo Switch Online also grants the usage of other features, including cloud backup, access to missions that grant special rewards, and access to Nintendo Classics. The Expansion Pack tier grants even more features.
A primary feature of Nintendo Switch Online is Nintendo Classics, which essentially functions much like Virtual Console did, except that the games are accessible by having an active subscription, rather than by separate purchases.
The following is a list of every Kirby game available on Nintendo Classics. Each Nintendo Classics app has two different regional versions: one version for Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong that supports Japanese and Chinese language options for the user interface, and another version for the rest of the world that supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian and Korean languages for the UI. Unless otherwise noted, the Japanese/Chinese versions tend to exclusively feature the Japanese versions of games, while the international versions tend to primarily feature the North American versions of games, with select Sega Genesis, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo GameCube games also offering the European and/or Korean versions if said game originally released with multilingual support back in the day; all international NES and SNES Nintendo Classics games only feature the North American versions. Any other differences between these regional versions when it comes to individual game releases and/or availability will be noted in the table below were applicable.
Despite the original game getting official French and German translations for Canada and parts of Europe, the international Nintendo Classics version can only be played in English.
