Field Frenzy is a Sub-Game found in Kirby Mass Attack. It is accessible from the stage select screen, and requires 5 Medals to unlock.

Gameplay[edit]

Gameplay

Field Frenzy is essentially a 'whack-a-mole' style game where the goal is to tap the enemies as they pop out of holes before they dive back in. Points are awarded for each foe tapped, but Gordos should not be tapped, as they will take away points. At the end, a 'boss' foe might appear, who has to be tapped rapidly to be defeated.

There are six levels of difficulty. The first level has only three holes, but each step up adds one more, excepting the last level, which causes the outer holes to rotate instead.

The following are enemies which appear in Field Frenzy, and their point values:

Bosses are worth 10 or 20 points per tap, either Moley or Robo Moley will appear, and if not defeated quickly, they will cause a loss for the player.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Field Frenzy Sub-Game is likely a nod to HAL Laboratory's first game Mole Attack for the Commodore VIC-20, a Whack-A-Mole game developed and released in 1981.
  • The Japanese name for Field Frenzy (さんじょう!モグモグだん, They've Arrived! The Mole Gang) is a reference to the Japanese subtitle for Kirby: Squeak Squad (参上さんじょう!ドロッチェだん, They've Arrived! The Daroach Gang). The Japanese logos are both stylized in the same manner.
