Nidoo is an elusive enemy appearing in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and certain levels in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. It disguises itself as a door at first, but reveals its true form to be that of a black blob with a pair of glowing eyes as soon as Kirby gets near. It is notable that a Nidoo assuming the appearance of a door is always the same shade of black or dark blue, even if the real doors inside the same area are of a lighter or darker shade.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Dream Land 3[edit]

Nidoo in its true shape.

Nidoo makes its debut in this game, appearing as a common enemy. It disguises itself as a doorway until Kirby gets close, upon which it slumps to reveal its true form. In this form, Nidoo jumps around, pausing between jumps, and can harm Kirby by bumping into him. Any attack can defeat it in its blob form, but it is invincible while disguised as a door. Nidoo can be inhaled in this game, but yields no Copy Ability if swallowed.

In Kirby's Dream Land 3, Nidoo can be found in the following levels and stages:

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]

Nidoo after revealing itself in Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

Nidoo returns in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, once again disguising itself as a doorway. It can be distinguished from real doorways in that it has a bluish tint (where actual doors are either black or white) and that the button prompt (up on the Circle Pad or +Control Pad) to enter doors does not pop up above Kirby when right in front of one. For a Nidoo to attack in this game, Kirby must attempt to make use of the fake doorway. At this, Nidoo reveals itself and attempts to squish Kirby, then disappears. Nidoos in this game are invulnerable to attack, and quickly vanish after revealing themselves. Its slamming attack can hurt enemies as well as Kirby.

Nidoo also disguises itself as a platform, and will disappear shortly after Kirby sets foot upon it, usually revealing a bottomless pit or a spike pit beneath.

In Wild World - Stage 3, Kirby can find a series of paintings of doorways, which are Nidoos in disguise. The Nidoos can be burned away by exposure to sunlight, revealing the true doorway.

In Kirby: Triple Deluxe Nidoo can be found in the following levels and stages:
