Score Coins (or just Coins) are items which can be obtained in certain Sub-Games and spin-off titles in the Kirby series. They can float in the air, or fall, and award points when collected.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]

The first appearance of score coins is in the Challenge Stages playable from within the Lor Starcutter in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and also appear in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. They come in silver and gold varieties, worth 100 and 1000 points respectively. They resemble round Roman-style coins, but bear stars on them instead of faces.

Collecting every coin in the stage confers upon Kirby an additional bonus of 1000 points.

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition[edit]

The New Challenge Stages in Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition are an extension of the earlier Challenge Stages from Kirby's Return to Dream Land. The coins in these stages likewise are the same, and serve the same purpose.

One thing to note is that during the Magolor Races, Magolor is capable of picking up these coins as well. If he gets them, they will become unavailable to Kirby.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe and Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe[edit]

Score Coins appear in both the original Dedede's Drum Dash and its deluxe version, referred to as Musical Coins. They can be collected along the path, and a bonus of 1000 pts. is conferred if all of them are collected in a given stage. In these games, bronze coins are worth 50 points, silver 200, and gold 500. Exclusive to Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe are number coins which need to be collected in the correct order. Each of these are worth 100 points save for the last one, worth 800.

Kirby: Planet Robobot and Kirby's Blowout Blast[edit]

In both Kirby 3D Rumble and Kirby's Blowout Blast, coins are scattered across the stage, and earn points when collected. Unlike the coins in other titles, the ones found here are squarish, similar to the cuboid nature of the stages themselves. Coins here come in three types, though their point values differ across both games; bronze coins are worth 100 points, silver coins are worth 300 points in the former and 500 points in the latter, and gold coins are worth 500 points in the former and 3000 points in the latter.

Kirby Battle Royale[edit]

In the Coin Clash mode of Kirby Battle Royale, coins can be found out in the open, taken from opponents, or knocked out of treasure barrels.

Score Coins make an appearance in the Coin Clash mode of Kirby Battle Royale, where the objective is to hold the most coins by the end of the round. Coins appear in various patterns out in the open during the game, and can also be collected by attacking a treasure barrel or from opponents. Any contestant who is possessed by a ghost will continuously lose coins.

There are two types of coins: normal coins are each worth one point, while larger coins can be found with a "5" printed on them, appropriately worth 5 points.
