The Garage is a feature in Kirby Air Riders where the player can view and display Air Ride Machines. Garages come in three different styles, which each have three sizes. By default, only the Small Sci-Fi Garage is unlocked, but additional styles and sizes can be purchased with Miles. Garages can also be opened up in Paddocks, although changing displayed machines is not possible when this is done.

Placing Machines[edit]

Menu for placing machines in the Garage.

In order for a machine to be placed in a Garage, it has to have been unlocked on the save file either through the Checklist or purchased from the Miles Shop. All machines except Gigantes can be placed in a Garage, although only a certain amount can be displayed at a time depending on the Garage's size. It is also possible to display My Machines, both created by the player and purchased through the Machine Market. Once placed, interacting with a machine allows the player to view the machine's stats, along with various animations. If the Garage is not opened in a Paddock, this screen also allows the machine to be swapped out for another or for the spot to be emptied.

Machines can be placed either by interacting with a parking space or by going into the Machine Placement menu. The menu allows for machine placement in all spaces in an efficient way, along with allowing for randomizing machine placements (which can also be done by holding the X button). The Random button will always prioritize My Machines if applicable. The placement of machines is always randomized the same way when opening a specific Garage for the very first time.

Once displayed, a machine can be interacted with in order to trigger certain actions, which vary slightly by machine. For most machines, this only consists of a "movement" animation and the boosting animation. The exceptions are the Hop Star, which also includes the jump animation, and Leo, which has both the jump animation followed by a claw slash and, oddly, the Quick Spin animation instead of the boosting animation. They will also occasionally display their idle animations automatically.
